Special Studies for Mike O’Callaghan Federal Medical Center, Las Vegas, Nevada

Provided technical studies for infrastructure upgrade associated with hospital and central plant modernizations. Evaluated infrastructure deficiencies, recommended solutions and developed associated costs for up-grades. Conducted on-site evaluation of building, developed Performance Work Statements for Design-Build RFP and prepared cost estimates for the proposed work.  

Our services included:

·         Investigation of slab-on-grade failure at the existing hospital including on-site field density soil tests to assess structural integrity and recommended solutions in Performance Work Statement

·         Investigation of Emergency Power Supply System (EPSS), Transient Voltage System (TVS) and recommendations for upgrade in Performance Work Statement

·         Investigation of Fire and Life safety systems for code and life safety compliance and recommendations for repair

·         Cost estimating utilizing MCACES – MII (Micro-Computer Aided Cost Estimating System, Second Generation)

·         Conducting a Value Engineering workshop

Owner’s contract had an aggressive schedule.  Our team proactively responded with innovative approaches, concise narratives and submission of deliverables to the owner ahead of their schedule.
